Let the countdown begin…

30 11 2008

So…once again it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. But during my blogging respite, I’ve been pondering a couple things I’d like to mention. Don’t expect anything too hard-hitting; they’re all pretty simple thoughts…

  1. First of all, I hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving! I finally wrapped up my gluttonous tour yesterday at the home of Keith’s paternal grandparents. We followed Thanksgiving dinner with a skating birthday party for his five-year-old neice, Halen. And yes, Keith and I, along with his brother and two sisters, skated like we were 5 ourselves again….until my left knee and my right hip began hurting. I might be a little sore today. What am I, 75?
  2. This is a tad overdue, but I want to congratulate Ryan and Christen on the birth of their second daughter, Olive Grace Byrd. She is beautiful, of course, and I can’t wait to see her in person.
  3. I hate sushi. Random, yes, but I must share this revelation. I have tried it multiple times from multiple locations, and the result is always the same. I freakin’ do not like it. And the sad thing is that I really want to like it, but I can’t. It’s really bland and fishy to me. In addition, I have a texture issue with it. I just hate the way it feels when I chew a big mouthful of it. Do not try to sway me. It will not work.
  4. I put up my Christmas tree, and I find it very lovely. I would really enjoy posting a picture of it, but I cannot find my camera battery charger. I think I may have left it in Tulsa. :(
  5. Retuned Guitars, Keith and his brother’s company, will have some very cool new guitars online for the holiday. Please check them out if you’re in the market for a guitar, or you know someone who is.

26 days til Christmas. Since I don’t have a pretty picture to show you of my tree, please enjoy this video clip from our favorite Christmastime movie, A Christmas Story.

Rock on.

Keith and his brother have begun a business called Retuned Guitars, LLC, which specializes in reconditioned guitars. I’m not even a guitar person, and I think these are all beautiful. If only I could play! I think I may still be able to squeak out a note or two on the ol’ clarinet, but I’m a far cry from rocker. Currently they’re selling an Epiphone Les Paul Ultra II, an Epiphone EM-2 FX Prophecy, a Samick D6 CE Greg Bennett Design, and a Jackson Dinky. Anyhow, check out their auctions. Buy a guitar. Thanks!

Note: I didn’t post pics of all the guitars. Just check out the auction.
